I have recently moved into a new home and after approx 2 weeks i started to receive letters to the homeowner which i opened saying i owed £398 and the matter was urgent could i contact EDF to pay. I called them to explain that was the previous owners/tenants and i was not liable could they please generate me a new accurate bill in my name to which they refused saying i needed to close that account before anything could happen. I was in total shock was passed to the recovery department and spoken to rudely by 2 staff members. I have now this morning received another letter asking for payment otherwise i will be handed to debt recovery, are they for real or what? I am now going to have to speak to a solicitor and will provide mortgage completion documents which proved i was not the previous owner and needless to say i now will not be asking for EDF to be my energy provider, disgusting service.
Been with EDF for years and any issues i have had was resolved swiftly and promptly without issues in a professional manner so i was always satisfied. Also i have called up on a few occasions over the years to speak about lowering my bill and on each and every occasion i have got a reduction which proves to me they have wanted to keep me on as a happy customer which is exactly what i am.
I recently switched my energy supplier to EDF and I am saving a small fortune each year.
I thought it would be a long and tedious process but it was simple and done by some very well trained individuals.
